It's Christmas Eve, 1992, and Annie is miserable.

She's a 28-year-old Youth Support Worker living in the midlands.

She's behind on her rent, her car is an reliable hump of junk, and she's just broken up with her boyfriend.

Whilst she's sitting in front of the TV, eating her bodyweight in ice cream, she gets a call from her manager.

A toddler has been abandoned at an amnesty out in the countryside, and needs to be urgently transported to a safehouse.

But safehouses all over England are full up.

The only opening is in Gavalley House - an orphanage in the Highlands of Scotland.

With nothing else going on this Christmas, Annie agrees.

She picks up the toddler - a nameless infant boy - and begins the long journey.

A snow storm is creeping in, her car soon starts playing up, and, as the trip spirals out of control, Annie soon realizes that they're being pursued.

Sinister forces want the boy, and they will stop at nothing to obtain him.
